Objectives of the Course

At the end of this course participants will be able to provide the appropriate emergency care for patients in emergency situations. The intended learning outcomes include;

Professional and practical skills

  1. Discuss basic principles of emergency care
  2. List the appropriate emergency drugs
  3. Assess the patient’s condition and identify the problem
  4. Perform prompt and effective resuscitation for seriously ill or injured patients
  5. Provide effective emergency care for patients with medical emergencies
  6. Demonstrate technical skills in managing patients with different types of trauma

General knowledge and understanding skills

  1. Classify life threatening condition in emergency department
  2. Identify the appropriate action for the emergency situation
  3. Prioritize action according to the needs of the situation
  4. Communicate effectively with patients and their families, and other colleagues
  5. Demonstrate decision making skills in emergency situations
